Question: Can you give me a price over the phone like other DJs?
Answer: Yes, I could make up an arbitrary number up to entice you without knowing anything about your event. Would that be fair to you though? Hopefully, you answered no! As a DJ I am never looking to just “get you a quote” without knowing more about your event and having a consultation with you about the event and your “must haves” before any pricing is provided to you.
Question: How do you come up with your cost for an event?
Answer: There are several aspects to any event that are never discussed with the client as you are paying/contracting services with a professional to deliver. Experience teaches that there are several intricacies of the work being performed (behind the scenes that are priceless acts) as I balance the additional work to achieve the desired result. You are paying for my personality, skills, and expertise in providing a specific mood and or experience.
Question: What if my event is cancelled?
Answer: If the event is canceled before the required date of the event and your deposit was not given then there is no problem. The risk however is that your date can still be booked if there is no deposit. If you paid your deposit and the event was canceled (at your request) you will not receive the deposit refunded to you. If the event was canceled by me as a dj (rarely happens has not but never say never) the monies will be refunded to you and or a proficient DJ will begin the consultation process to assure your needs are met. Additionally, I will help support you in your effort of finding a professional DJ if for any reason your needs are not able to be met (I am honest and fair). I am human and things happen.
Question: What if you quote me and I decide to add additional services for my event?
Answer: Short answer…You only pay for what you add! I do not believe in making you pay for anything other than my services and will not try to increase your price to meet your needs in excess. We will meet your needs and your budget. I will make sure to be transparent about cost and the additional steps necessary to meet your needs. If you request however that Chris Brown performs at your event, you will be paying the cost associated with Mr. Brown's performance and you owe me an autograph from Mr. Brown.
